Tareq has completed his fourth year of his Honours Bachelors of Science in Physics-Mathematics and Minor in Computer Science for Scientists. His first exposure to research was in the summer of 2019 at the Institute of Research on Exoplanets in Montreal. There, he used nonparametric Gaussian process regression to disentangle stellar-correlated noise from radial velocity measurements. One year later, he joined the Structured Quantum Optics group to investigate the application of high-dimensional photonic states in quantum cryptography. In his spare time, he enjoys tinkering about with computers and consuming science fiction from decades past. He also enjoys riding his bicycle through the suburbs on a nice day.
