Noah Staudte is currently a grade 11 high school student at Lisgar Collegiate Institute fascinated by physics and engineering. At the end of 2018, Noah was elected as grade representative at his school. In early 2019, he joined Prof. Ebrahim Karimi’s Structured Quantum Optics group under the mentorship of Prof. Karimi himself and Felix Hufnagel as part of Lisgar’s co-op program. Currently, he is working on fixing wavefront deviations of structured light due to free-space atmospheric changes using a liquid crystal on silicon spatial light modulator. When he isn’t in the lab or at school, he works as a swim instructor and lifeguard. In his spare time, he enjoys playing hockey, soccer, volleyball, surfing, and likes to sail.
