Francisco Ruz

Francisco is a PhD student who joined the group in the fall of 2026. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics and Physics Engineering from Universidad de Santiago, Chile, where he studied various topics in physics, with a special interest in quantum optics, differential geometry, and group theory. He also developed an interest in light-matter interaction while completing his thesis in high-resolution laser spectroscopy in Rb and Li. This led him to explore topological quantum light as his research field for his graduate studies.

When not studying, Francisco enjoys reading, baking sourdough bread, and brewing coffee
